Internazionali d'Italia, Paolini makes history, Gauff knocked out and Italian triumph 40 years later

Rome, 17 May (LaPresse) – It's all true, Jasmine. The dream has come true. On Centre Court, she raises her arms to the sky and wins the title she dreamed of as a child when she came to the Internazionali with her father to watch her favourite sport. Paolini defeated Coco Gauff in two sets with a score of 6-4, 6-1 in an hour and a half and, at 29, became the queen of Rome, winning a tournament that had eluded Italy for four decades, since Raffaella Reggi's victory in 1985 in the edition that was then held in Taranto.
