Leverkusen (Germany), 1 September (LaPresse/AP) – Erik Ten Hag’s spell on the Bayer Leverkusen bench was short-lived. The Dutch coach was sacked by the German club after just three games. ‘It was not an easy decision,’ said Bayer’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, in a statement. The start of the Bundesliga had been disappointing for Ten Hag: his Bayer side lost 2-1 to Hoffenheim in their opening game and were held to a 3-3 draw by Werder Bremen on Saturday after being two goals ahead.
