Marquinhos broke the deadlock with a tap-in from close range after an assist from Ruiz just three minutes into the game, and in the 39th minute, Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead with a thunderbolt from outside the box after a solo run. Before half-time, Barcola missed a penalty saved by Carnesecchi.
