Milan, Sept. 23 (LaPresse) – Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, Paris Saint-Germain/Manchester City) has won the ‘Lev Yashin’ award as the best goalkeeper of the 2024/25 season.
“Thank you all, it’s an honour to receive this award thanks to my performances. As a team, we achieved incredible results, and I want to thank the entire group for a fantastic season. Now I’m focused on my new adventure at Manchester City — we have big goals to reach,” Donnarumma said on stage after receiving the award from Gigi Buffon.
Donnarumma topped the final top 5 ahead of Alisson, Courtois, Bounou, and Sommer.
In the women’s category, the award went to England and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.
