The much-anticipated announcement from LeBron James, which in recent hours had sparked speculation about his possible farewell to basketball, turned out to be an advertisement for a cognac brand the Los Angeles Lakers star has long been associated with.
Yesterday, LeBron had teased what he called “The Decision of All Decisions”, a nod to the iconic 2010 TV special “The Decision”, in which he announced his move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat.
“I like my decision,” King James said at the end of the ad, later joking on social media about the nature of the announcement by posting a string of emojis.
