Milan, 9 October (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini reaches the quarter-finals of the Dongfeng-Voyah Wuhan Open, the last WTA 1000 tournament of the season, with a prize pool of $3,654,963, which is being played on the hard courts of Wuhan, China. The 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, ranked No. 8 and seeded No. 7, took advantage of the withdrawal of Denmark’s Clara Tauson, No. 12 in the WTA rankings and tenth seed, due to a leg injury at 3-6, 6-1, 3-1. In the quarter-finals, Paolini will face the winner of the match between Swiss veteran Belinda Bencic, 13th seed, and Poland’s Iga Swiatek, ranked No. 2 and seeded No. 2.
