Milan, 9 October (LaPresse) – Iga Swiatek will be Jasmine Paolini’s opponent in the quarter-finals of the Dongfeng-Voyah Wuhan Open, the last WTA 1000 tournament of the season, with a prize pool of $3,654,963, which is being played on the hard courts of Wuhan, China. The Polish player, ranked No. 2 and seeded No. 2, won 7-6(2), 6-4 after a battle lasting over two hours against Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, ranked No. WTA and seeded No. 13. The 24-year-old from Warsaw, former world tennis queen (she lost her crown a year ago), has won all six previous matches against the Italian.
