Milan, 18 October (LaPresse) – A close encounter with a seagull (during the warm-up lap) and a mistake on the sixth of the 13 scheduled laps were not enough to deny Marco Bezzecchi victory in the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix Sprint. The Aprilia Racing team rider from Romagna took the gold on Saturday afternoon, ahead of his teammate Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse MotoGP Team), the only one to give him any trouble. The bronze went to Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who won a three-way sprint for the last step on the podium. Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) made a remarkable comeback, starting twentieth and finishing tenth, just a whisker away from the points. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), on the other hand, finished second to last, 32 seconds behind Bezzecchi.
