Football: Bayern Munich coach Kompany renews contract until 2029

Milan, 21 October (LaPresse) – Bayern Munich and Vincent Kompany have extended their contract until 30 June 2029. The coach’s current agreement was due to expire in the summer of 2027. The Bavarian club announced this in a statement. Kompany, 39, arrived in Munich from Burnley FC in England before the 2024/25 season and led the team to the Bundesliga title in his first year. The Belgian also won the Super Cup with Bayern at the start of this season. ‘I am grateful, honoured and would like to thank Bayern for the trust and working environment they have given me since day one. It feels like I have been here much longer and know the club well. It has been a fantastic experience so far. We have started on a wonderful journey.
