Milan, 1 November. (LaPresse) – Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini got off to a good start on the first day of the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh. The Italian pair, who are aiming to finish the season as the best doubles team, defeated Asia Muhammad and Demi Schuurs in two sets with a decisive 6-3, 6-3 victory. The Italians lost their first head-to-head match this year at Indian Wells, but took their revenge, again in two sets, in the quarter-finals of the US Open, the best result of the season for the American and Dutch pair. Errani and Paolini arrive in Riyadh for the second consecutive time together at the WTA Finals, buoyed by their first Slam triumph as a pair, achieved at Roland Garros. Together, they have also won three WTA 1000 titles, the most special of all at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
