Metz (France), Nov. 4 (LaPresse) – Lorenzo Sonego claimed what could be the last all-Italian derby of the ATP season. The Piedmontese player reached the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Metz by coming from behind to beat fourth seed Flavio Cobolli 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in 2 hours and 7 minutes. In the quarterfinals, Sonego will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Hugo Gaston (98) and German Daniel Altmaier (46). With this loss, Cobolli misses the chance to finish the year among the world’s top 20, settling at number 22. Sonego is virtually ranked 42nd and dreams of ending the season in the top 40.
