Milan, 23 November (LaPresse) – An excellent Roma side won 3-1 away at Cremonese in a Serie A matchday 12 fixture, taking sole possession of top spot in the table with 27 points, at least for a few hours. All this while awaiting tonight’s Milan derby. Gasperini’s team put in a practically perfect performance, dominating throughout against an opponent that has caused problems for more than one big team so far this season. However, Nicola’s side suffered their third consecutive defeat, although they remain comfortably mid-table with 14 points. It was an exciting first half in Cremona, with Roma taking the lead thanks to a splendid goal from Soulè in the 17th minute. After a splendid run by Konè, Soulè controlled the ball well at the edge of the box and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of Audero’s goal. The match heated up, with continuous turnarounds and several chances for both sides. The two goalkeepers, Svilar and Audero, became the protagonists, with a series of great saves, particularly on Bonazzoli on one side and Pellegrini on the other. The former Roma captain also had a goal disallowed for offside, while Cremonese had a penalty revoked by VAR for a supposed handball by Mancini in the box. In the second half, Cremonese came out with great determination, but Roma defended well and struck at the right moment. In the 64th minute, the Giallorossi doubled their lead through the newly entered Ferguson, who scored with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box after an assist from El Aynaoui. Five minutes later, in the 69th minute, Wesley made it 3-0 with a delightful lob over Audero after an assist from El Shaarawy. It was the knockout blow for Cremonese, and a late header from Folino was not enough.
