Europa League: Roma 2–1 Midtjylland

Rome, 27 November (LaPresse) – Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma continue their winning streak in the Europa League. In their home match against Midtjylland, the Giallorossi beat the Danish team, current leaders of the competition’s single group, 2-1. Roma took the lead in the 7th minute with a great goal from El Aynaoui, who skilfully turned in a cross from Celik. In the 26th minute, Manu Koné was injured: the Frenchman was stamped on and remained on the ground in pain after twisting his ankle. Cristante replaced him. It was a tough match for the Giallorossi, who looked a little tired at times and struggled against their opponents’ physicality. The second goal came in the 83rd minute: El Aynaoui recovered the ball in midfield and launched a counterattack led by Bailey, who set up El Shaarawy in the centre of the box to beat the Danish goalkeeper.
