Milan-Cortina: Olympic flame arrives in Italy

Rome, December 4 (LaPresse) – The Olympic flame delivered by Greece to our country ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games arrived in Italy shortly after 5:10 p.m. on an ITA Airways flight from Athens that landed at Fiumicino. The flame, kept in four special lanterns, will now be transported to the Quirinale, near the Vetrata del Cortile d’onore. It will be welcomed by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who will receive the Italian delegation composed of, among others, the president of the Milano Cortina Foundation, Giovanni Malagò, the president of CONI, Luciano Buonfiglio, the mayors of Milan and Cortina, Giuseppe Sala and Gianluca Lorenzi, and Jasmine Paolini, who was the torchbearer at the torch delivery ceremony held this morning at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens.
