Milano, 6 dic. (LaPresse) – First league victory for Hellas Verona, who in the Saturday evening match of the 14th Serie A round beat Atalanta 3–1 at the Bentegodi. The Gialloblù took the lead in the 28th minute through Belghali, and doubled the advantage just eight minutes later with Giovane. In the second half, Bernede made it 3–0 on a counterattack. Scamacca reduced the deficit in the 81st minute with a penalty awarded for a handball by Bella-Kotchap, but it was not enough. Three very valuable points in the battle for survival for Paolo Zanetti’s team, which now sits at 9 points, two fewer than the three teams just above the relegation zone. Atalanta, meanwhile, return to defeat after three consecutive victories between the Champions League, Serie A, and Coppa Italia: Palladino’s side remain 12th in the standings with 16 points.
