Milan, 8 December (LaPresse) – A woman and a man were convicted today on charges of blackmailing South Korean football star Son Heung-min, former Tottenham striker and now with Los Angeles FC, over an alleged pregnancy. This was reported by the Yonhap news agency. The Seoul Central District Court sentenced the 20-year-old woman, surnamed Yang, to four years in prison, and her 40-year-old ex-boyfriend, surnamed Yong, to two years in prison. The young woman was charged with blackmail and attempted blackmail for extorting 300 million won (over €175,000) from Son in June last year after sending him an ultrasound scan of a baby and threatening to reveal that she was pregnant. According to the investigation, the woman approached Son after another man she had targeted did not respond to her blackmail. Subsequently, between March and May this year, the 20-year-old and the 40-year-old allegedly attempted to extort another 70 million won from the footballer, threatening to tell his family and the press about her alleged pregnancy and subsequent abortion.
