Tennis: Musetti announces the arrival of supercoach Perlas to his team

Rome, 8 December (LaPresse) – ‘Let’s start preparing for 2026! Welcome José.’ This is what Lorenzo Musetti wrote on his Instagram profile, posting a photo of himself at the Monte-Carlo Country Club with his coach Simone Tartarini, athletic trainer Damiano Fiorucci and José Perlas, who will take on the role of supercoach. The Carrara native ended 2025 with his first career qualification for the Nitto ATP Finals and is preparing for the new season in Monte Carlo, where he lives with his girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri and his family. The choice of the Spanish coach says a lot about his ambitions for the future. Perlas was captain of the Spanish Davis Cup team, with which he won two trophies in 2000 and 2004. From 1999 to 2004, he was Albert Costa’s coach, then went on to work with Guillermo Coria and Nicolas Almagro. For five years, from 2012 to 2016, Perlas was Fabio Fognini’s coach.
