Spalletti: ‘Winning was crucial, but we’re not satisfied’

Turin, 11 December (LaPresse) – ‘It was crucial to win, so victories put a lot of things right. However, we need to do more. We’re not happy, and neither are the lads. At times, we did the bare minimum, and there were some embarrassing moments in the first half. Then, in the second half, we loosened up and played with more composure.’ This was Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti’s assessment after the Champions League victory over Paphos. ‘In the second half, we were more organised but also more determined. These are difficult games because they have conceded very few goals, only Bayern have scored particularly well against them,’ the coach explained to Sky Sport. ‘We struggled a bit in defence. It’s clear that we need to get some players back there because McKennie isn’t defensive, and neither is Cambiaso,’ he continued. ‘We conceded too much and didn’t make the most of our qualities. We didn’t notice some plays, and sometimes it seems incredible that we can’t do it, but that’s how it is at the moment.’
