Basketball: NBA, Detroit continues to fly high, Mitchell leads the Cavaliers

Turin, 13 December (LaPresse) – Seven games were played last night in the NBA. The Detroit Pistons secured their 20th win of the season against the Atlanta Hawks, 142-115, with all players scoring and eight in double figures, the best being Isaiah Stewart with 17 points. Jalen Johnson recorded a triple-double, but it was not enough to change Atlanta’s fortunes. The Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Hornets, with a comeback in the final minutes, 126-129: Josh Giddey scored 26 points. The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Washington Wizards 126-130, with Donovan Mitchell scoring 48 points: he was the best player of the night overall. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Indiana Pacers 115-105, with Joel Embiid scoring 39 points. The Minnesota Timberwolves celebrate their victory over the Golden State Warriors, beating them 120-127 despite Steph Curry’s 39 points. Julius Randle proved decisive, as did Rudy Gobert (24 points and 14 rebounds) and Donte DiVincenzo (21 points). The Utah Jazz beat the Memphis Grizzlies 126-130, enjoying a 39-point performance from Keyonte George. Finally, the Dallas Mavericks managed to prevail 119-111 over the Brooklyn Nets with 24 points and 14 rebounds from Anthony Davis. Tonight, the two NBA Cup semi-finals will be held, Knicks-Magic and Spurs-Thunder.
