Rome, 19 December (LaPresse) – Napoli and Bologna will face off in the Italian Super Cup final. In the second semi-final of the mini-tournament currently underway in Riyadh, the Rossoblù beat Inter 4-3 on penalties (the match ended 1-1 in regular time). The Nerazzurri did not perform well in the penalty shootout, which (as per the rules) was reached without going into extra time. The mistakes by Bastoni (saved), Barella (over the bar) and Bonny (saved) proved decisive. Only Lautaro and De Vrij scored for Chivu’s men. Ferguson, Rowe and Immobile did not miss for Bologna, with the latter sending the Emiliani to the final by scoring the last penalty, confirming his status as a specialist despite his long absence through injury. Moro (saved) and Miranda (over the bar) missed for Bologna. For Inter, the match seemed to be on the right track from the start: in the 5th minute, Marcus Thuram (paired with Bonny) gave the Nerazzurri the lead. But Bologna did not give up and found the equaliser in the 35th minute with a penalty scored by Orsolini for a handball by Bisseck signalled by VAR. In the second half, VAR led to the revocation of a penalty initially awarded to Inter for a possible foul by Heggem on Bonny. In the other semi-final yesterday, Napoli beat Milan 2-0. The final is scheduled for Monday 22 December.
