Football, Ranieri: ‘My Roma team is golden, with Juve a very important match’

Rome, 20 December (LaPresse) – ‘All my dreams have come true and I am very satisfied with what I have done. But dreams are always there, because to stop dreaming means to have closed the door. I still have many dreams to fulfil, but you have to work hard to achieve them’. These were the words of former Roma coach Claudio Ranieri on the sidelines of the “Sports Oscars” ceremony at the CONI Hall of Honour. What did Roma’s run last year mean? “I had a golden group of lads, with 60,000 people always behind us at the Olimpico. I said it when I arrived: I can’t do it alone, I need everyone’s help. And the fans were behind us, they pushed us and supported us,‘ admitted Ranieri. When asked what award he would give Roma for 2025, the former coach, now a club executive, sidestepped the question: ’There’s a very important match today, but let’s leave Roma aside because we’re in a different context.” Finally, on the significance of the “Premio Italiani nel Mondo” award he received today, he concluded: ‘It means a lot, it makes me very proud to be an Italian who has made a name for himself in the world. But there are also many other champions who have made Italian history abroad.’
