Milan, 20 Dec. (LaPresse) – Cornelia Huetter won the downhill race in Val d’Isère, France, valid for the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. The Austrian finished with a time of 1’41‘54, +0’26 ahead of Germany’s Kira Weidle-Winkelmann, with the United States’ Lindsey Vonn completing the podium at +0″35. The best of the Italian team was Laura Pirovano, currently fifth at +0.41, while the big favourite Sofia Goggia was only eighth at +0.62 due to a mistake when she was clearly in the lead. Nicol Delago also did well, finishing ninth at +1.01.
