Milan-Cortina, Mattarella to athletes: “Italy will be with you”

Therefore, we pour in our culture and our friendship, our hospitality, and Italy will be fully with you; it is no coincidence that there is such a significant presence around you,” said President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale during the flag handover ceremony for the Italian athletes departing for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games. “We are very happy to see Federica Brignone once again ready and determined. When we spoke months ago on the phone, we were counting on this, and it is a pleasure to see her in such condition,” added the Head of State.
