Football: Bove one step away from Watford, just waiting for official confirmation

Rome, 20 January (LaPresse) – Edoardo Bove’s transfer to Watford is almost complete. According to LaPresse, all that remains is to formalise the transfer of the former Roma and Fiorentina midfielder to the English Championship club. On 1 December, during the home match against Inter, Bove suffered a cardiac arrest in the 14th minute of play. He was admitted to intensive care and discharged two weeks later from the hospital, where he underwent surgery to implant a subcutaneous cardiac defibrillator. The presence of the device, which detects changes in heart rhythm, prevents Bove from playing in Italy, as Italian regulations are restrictive. However, the situation abroad is different, and in the United Kingdom, a more flexible approach is in place, based on individual risk assessment rather than an automatic ban. Therefore, thanks to this regulation, Bove can play in England, where he is ready to give himself a second competitive life. The first crucial step was the termination of his contract with Roma three days ago, a necessary move to ensure that he could continue his football career.
