NBA: Detroit defeats Boston, Fontecchio not enough for Miami against Golden State

Milan, 20 January (LaPresse) – Nine games were played between the evening and night in Italy, valid for the NBA regular season, on Martin Luther King Day. The Oklahoma City Thunder won convincingly against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a score of 136-104, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 30 points. The Detroit Pistons narrowly defeated the Boston Celtics 104-103 in the clash between the top two teams in the East, thanks to 16 points and 14 assists from Cade Cunningham. The Golden State Warriors beat the Miami Heat 135-121 with a double-double from Steph Curry with 19 points and 11 assists, while Simone Fontecchio also performed well with 13 points and 8 rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Atlanta Hawks 112-110 thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds. The Los Angeles Clippers also won away against the Washington Wizards 110-106 with James Harden narrowly missing a triple-double with 36 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The Dallas Mavericks beat the New York Knicks 114-97 with 26 points from Max Christie, while the San Antonio Spurs won at home against the Utah Jazz 123-110 thanks to a double-double from Victor Wembanyama with 33 points and 10 rebounds. The Philadelphia 76ers also won at home against the Indiana Pacers 113-104 with 29 points from Tyese Maxey. Finally, the Phoenix Suns beat the Brooklyn Nets away 126-117 thanks to 27 points from Dillon Brooks.
