Snowboarder Wedding arrested: former Olympic champion and drug trafficking boss

Rome, 23 January (LaPresse/AP) – Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder, one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives and accused of drug trafficking and the murder of a federal witness, has been arrested in Mexico. The former athlete is accused of running a drug trafficking operation and, according to officials, orchestrating several murders to fuel drug-related crimes. The former Olympian, who competed for Canada, was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list, and authorities had offered a £10 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. The FBI released a new photo of Wedding last month and said it is believed to have been taken during the summer in Mexico.
