Turin, 28 January (LaPresse) – Atalanta lost 1-0 away to Union St. Gilloise in their final Champions League group stage match, missing out on a place in the round of 16 and qualifying for the playoffs. The decisive goal was scored in the 25th minute of the second half by Khalaili, who popped up unmarked at the far post and scored on the turn following a free kick. The Belgian team moved up to 9 points but was still eliminated, while Atalanta finished the group stage with 13 points and maintained home advantage ahead of the playoffs.
