Milan, Feb. 3 (LaPresse) – Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde will not compete at the Milan-Cortina Olympics, as he attempts to regain physical fitness after the serious accident two years ago. “I did everything possible to be ready for the Olympics, but my mind and body are not giving their best,” said the Scandinavian skier, who is engaged to Mikaela Shiffrin. Kilde underwent surgery for a severe cut and nerve damage to his right calf and for the rupture of two shoulder ligaments following the accident in Wengen, Switzerland, in January 2024. He returned to the World Cup this season. Kilde won the silver medal in the alpine combined and bronze in the Super-G at the Beijing 2022 Games.
