Milan Cortina: cheers for Mattarella in the stands during ceremony alongside IOC president

Milan, 6 February. (LaPresse) – The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, take their places in the VIP stand at San Siro, marking the start of a ceremonial moment of great symbolic value. Mattarella was greeted by a roar from the San Siro stadium, to which he responded with a smiling wave. For the first time in the history of the Winter Olympic Games, the ceremony takes place simultaneously in two host cities: Milan and Cortina. The institutional moment becomes an integral part of the narrative of the ceremony, visually translating the concept of harmony as a connection between territories, people and values. Milan and Cortina are not simply backdrops, but complementary narrative hubs.
