Milan-Cortina, biathlete Passler appeals to CAS: hearing on February 10

Antholz (Bolzano), Feb. 7 (LaPresse) – Italian biathlete Rebecca Passler has filed an appeal with the CAS against Nado Italia, WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, FISI, the IOC, ITA, the International Testing Agency, IBU, the International Biathlon Federation, and CONI regarding the “provisional suspension following an out-of-competition anti-doping test.” This was announced in a statement by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. Passler was provisionally suspended on February 2 by Nado Italia after testing positive for letrozole, listed by WADA as a prohibited substance. The 24-year-old biathlete “asks CAS to overturn the provisional suspension due to lack of intent and negligence and to allow her to participate in the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.” The hearing for this procedure is scheduled for February 10.
