Milan-Cortina: Goggia, Brignone, Pirovano and Nicol Delago form the women’s downhill quartet

Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), 7 February (LaPresse) – At the end of the second timed training run for the women’s downhill, which was declared over at number 23 with Elena Curtoni despite the jury allowing the rest of the entrants to race without timing on the shortened course from the big bend to the finish line, the technical staff officially announced the quartet at the start of the competition, which will award medals on Sunday, 8 February (11:30 a.m.) at the Milan-Cortina Games. They are Federica Brignone, Nicol Delago, Sofia Goggia and Laura Pirovano. For Brignone, this is the second Olympic downhill race of her career: in 2018 in PyeongChang, she withdrew. Goggia is competing for the third time after winning gold in PyeongChang in 2018 and silver in Beijing in 2022, as is Delago, who withdrew in PyeongChang in 2018 and finished eleventh in Beijing in 2022, while for Pirovano this is her first time.
