Milan, Feb. 8 (LaPresse) – Italy claims its second medal in speed skating at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. The surprise winner is young Riccardo Lorello in the men’s 5,000 meters. Gold goes to Norway’s Sander Eitrem with a time of 6’03”95, setting a new Olympic record. Silver goes to Czech talent Metodej Jílek at +2.53, and bronze to Lorello at +5.27. Favorite Davide Ghiotto finishes fourth, +5.62 behind.
