Milan, Feb. 9 (LaPresse) – “I do not comment on the statements of the President of the United States, the IOC has issued a statement on the matter and I have nothing to add.” This was said by IOC spokesperson Mark Adams in response at a press conference to a question about the harsh attack by U.S. President Donald Trump against Hunter Hess, a 27-year-old American athlete competing at the Milan-Cortina Games, who had criticized him. “We have very good relations with the U.S. Olympic Committee and we will seek to engage in dialogue with them in order to focus solely on the Games,” he added. When asked whether anything would change regarding the athlete’s security, both Adams and Andrea Francisi, Milan Cortina 2026 Chief Games Operations Officer, replied. “We do not talk about security,” Adams said. “In the villages the atmosphere is calm and there is no need to revise plans for athletes,” Francisi added.
