Milan, 13 February (LaPresse) – Lindsey Vonn will undergo another surgery on her broken left leg on Saturday at the hospital in Treviso where she is being treated, ‘and then I will potentially be able to leave and go home.’ Vonn posted a video message on Instagram on Friday after her horrific crash in the Olympic downhill at the Milan-Cortina Games. ‘Hey guys, I just wanted to give you a little update and thank everyone so much for sending me flowers and letters,’ Vonn said, adding that she also received stuffed animals, including a shark-shaped pillow on which she rested her head in the video. “It’s been just amazing and really helped me a lot. It’s been a pretty tough few days here in the hospital. I finally feel more like myself. I have a long, long road ahead of me. Tomorrow I’m having another surgery, and I hope it goes well, and then potentially I can leave and go home, at which point I’ll need another surgery. I don’t know exactly what that will entail until I have better images, but it’s pretty much the same situation right now.” Vonn is hospitalised in Treviso. ‘And yes, I have a bruise under my eye,’ Vonn added in a message written in her post. ‘But it’s almost gone!’
