Klaebo makes history with nine Olympic gold medals, equalling Lewis and Spitz

Milan, 15 February (LaPresse/Ap) – Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo cemented his legacy at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics by winning his ninth Olympic gold medal in cross-country skiing, setting a record for the Winter Games. The 29-year-old clinched victory in the men’s relay, his fourth gold at the Games, equalling Summer Games legends such as Carl Lewis and Mark Spitz on the all-time Olympic gold list. With two races remaining, Klaebo could move closer to Michael Phelps’ unrivalled record of 23 gold medals.
