Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), 15 February (LaPresse) – Federica Brignone won the gold medal in the women’s giant slalom at the Milan-Cortina Games. The athlete from Valle d’Aosta, already a gold medallist in super-G and reigning world champion in this discipline, thus wins her fifth Olympic medal in her career and remains on the Olympic podium in giant slalom after winning bronze in PyeongChang in 2018 and silver in Beijing in 2022. With this medal, Italy also equals the record number of podium finishes (20) achieved by the Italian team at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. It also equals the record number of gold medals won at Lillehammer ’94.
