Trento, 18 February (LaPresse) – “In recent years, I have tried to work hard with them on their mentality. In my long career, I have worked with many coaches and many different methodologies: I have tried to make my teammates understand that it is important to do the proposed training to the best of their ability. To do this, you need to know how to listen to your body and communicate with it, as well as persevere in your work. Work that must be done well: sometimes how you do it is more important than what you do.” These were the words of Federico Pellegrino, bronze medallist in the men’s cross-country skiing relay, before the final preparation for the freestyle team sprint, which takes place today starting at 10:15 a.m. on the Olympic circuit at Lake Tesero. ‘Approach is fundamental, in sport as in life,’ he added, ‘and from this point of view, awareness is fundamental: to achieve a result, you have to believe you are capable of achieving it. Now that the medal has arrived, everyone knows they can do it: now it’s a matter of knowing that they are still capable. Experience helps to visualise the possible dynamics of the race, and this is something I have insisted on a lot.
