Milan-Cortina, Sighel: ‘It’s not easy to find the words, tomorrow will be our final effort’

Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), 19 February (LaPresse) – “At a time like this, it’s not easy to find the words, but one thing I know for sure: I want to say thank you. Thank you for all the warmth I have received over the last few days: you have been close to me and given me enormous strength, which has helped me to face the difficulties of the individual races. I took to the track with the same desire, professionalism and determination as always, the characteristics that have led me to compete with the best in the world over the years. Tomorrow is the final effort with the men’s relay. Support us as you have done so far and, as always, Forza Italia.” So wrote Pietro Sighel, star of Italian short track speed skating, in an Instagram post following yesterday’s controversial elimination in the 500 metres at the Milan-Cortina Games.
