Anterselva (Bolzano), 21 February (LaPresse) – No medal for Italy in the women’s mass start, which closed the biathlon programme at the Milan-Cortina Games. Dorothea Wierer, in the last race of her career, finished fifth with two errors at the shooting range in the middle of the mass start. Lisa Vittozzi finished further back, in eighteenth place, never in contention for a medal after making four shooting errors. The gold medal went to France’s Oceane Michelon ahead of her compatriot Julia Simon. Bronze went to the Czech Republic’s Tereza Vobornikova, who led for most of the race.
