Rai, M. Lollobrigida: ‘Off-air comments on Israel unacceptable, immediate investigation required’

Rome, 21 February (LaPresse) – “The off-air comment broadcast before the four-man bobsleigh competition at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics on Rai 2 contains an unacceptable expression that in no way represents the values of public service and Rai Sport. On behalf of the management, I offer my sincere apologies to the Israeli athletes, the delegation and all viewers. Immediate internal investigations have been launched to ascertain responsibility. Sport should unite, not divide.‘ This was stated in a note by Marco Lollobrigida, interim head of Rai Sport, after the off-air comment in which a voice can be heard during the live broadcast of the bobsleigh race at Milan Cortina 2026 saying, ’Let’s avoid crew number 21, which is the Israeli one.”
