Milan, 28 February (LaPresse) – “New VAR protocol? I agree with any rules that can help football and improve it. I’m sorry to have been involved in this.” Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu spoke at a press conference in place of coach Luciano Spalletti on the eve of the league match against Roma, returning to the events of Inter-Juventus and the new VAR protocol approved today by IFAB. When asked if he had been in contact with Bastoni and how he would behave in the next match, the French full-back said: ‘There has been no contact with Bastoni, we didn’t talk much before and I hope that in six months’ time I will have had enough success to make me forget this episode. I don’t expect anything from him, I’ll just focus on the match.’ Finally, on the FIGC’s decision not to pardon him, Kalulu said: ‘The thing that bothered me the most will always be the final result, because the team always comes first. There’s nothing that hurt me more than anything else.’
