Skiing, World Cup: Pirovano wins downhill in Val di Fassa

Rome, Mar. 6 (LaPresse) – Laura Pirovano triumphed in the women’s downhill in Val di Fassa with a time of 1:21.40. Behind the Italian skier, by just one hundredth of a second, was German Emma Aicher. Third place went to Olympic champion Breezy Johnson, at +0.29. Further back was Sofia Goggia, who remains far from the top positions in the discipline standings, still led by Lindsey Vonn. Pirovano climbed the rankings and secured a podium finish behind Aicher, who came second.
