Rome, 8 March (LaPresse) – First gold medal for Italy at the Paralympic Games in Milan Cortina. Emanuel Perathoner won the snowboard cross title on the Cortina D’Ampezzo track, ahead of Australia’s Ben Tudhope (+2.4) and South Korea’s Lee Jehyuk (+3.01). ‘Great, it was what we had been aiming for this season. Wonderful. Today the track was perfect for my characteristics, it’s a shame that some athletes got hurt. Next week we are aiming for another gold (banked slalom, ed.), let’s hope for the best. I have always dominated in that discipline, but this is my favourite,’ commented the South Tyrolean.
