Tennis, ATP Barcelona: Musetti crashes out in the quarter-finals; Fils wins in straight sets

Rome, 17 April (LaPresse) – Lorenzo Musetti has been knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, an ATP 500 tournament played on clay at Spain’s oldest tennis club. In his match against France’s Arthur Fils, ranked 30th in the ATP rankings, the Italian, ranked ninth, was defeated in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 16 minutes of play. This dashes the Carrara native’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals for the fifth time in his last six clay-court tournaments and equalling his best result in Barcelona (the semi-finals in 2023).
