NBA: Oklahoma beat Phoenix again, Detroit bounce back against Orlando

Milan, 23 Apr. (LaPresse) – Two games were played last night in the first round of the NBA play-offs. In the East, the Detroit Pistons won Game 2 against the Orlando Magic 98-83, levelling the series and immediately regaining home-court advantage. The series now moves to Florida for the next two games. Cade Cunningham led Detroit with 27 points and 11 assists, whilst Paolo Banchero’s 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists were not enough for the Magic. In the West, the defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder also beat the Phoenix Suns in Game 2, 120-107, to take a 2-0 lead in the series, which now moves to Arizona. The ever-reliable Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 37 points and 9 assists; the Suns’ 30 points from Dillon Brooks and 21 from Devin Booker were not enough. Finally, it is worth noting that San Antonio Spurs forward Keldon Johnson has been named Sixth Man of the Year. Johnson received 64 first-place votes from a panel of journalists, beating Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat and Tim Hardaway Jr. of the Denver Nuggets.
