The Ducati rider clocked 1’48″087, ahead of Johann Zarco’s Honda (+0″140) and Fabio Di Giannantonio’s Ducati VR46. Fourth place for world championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, riding an Aprilia, more than one second behind the Spaniard (+1″028). Eighth was Enea Bastianini on a KTM, while his teammate Pedro Acosta will start sixth; rounding out the top ten is Pecco Bagnaia, tenth on the other factory Ducati. The sprint race is scheduled for 3 p.m.
