Milan, May 16 (LaPresse) – Elina Svitolina succeeds Jasmine Paolini in the roll of honor of the women’s tournament at the Rome Internationals. The Ukrainian tennis player, number 7 seeded and number 8 in the world, defeated American Coco Gauff in the final in three sets, 6-4 6-7 6-3, thus taking home the title. For Gauff, number 4 in the WTA rankings, it is the second consecutive defeat in the final act in Rome, after last year’s defeat against Paolini.
