Milan, May 22 (LaPresse) – Alberto Bettiol won stage 13 of the 189km Giro d’Italia, from Alessandria to Verbania, by a wide margin. The XDS rider Astana, with a blistering sprint up the Ungiasca climb, reached the finish line alone with a gap of +30″ over the Norwegian Andreas Leknessund of Uno X. Third was the Belgian Jasper Stuyven of Soudal Quick-Step, who set another small group of escapees at +0.43″. Bettiol’s victory is the third Italian victory in this edition of the Giro d’Italia. Portuguese Afonso Eulalio of Bahrain Victorious retained the pink and white Conad shirts.
