Turin, 24 May (LaPresse) – Kimi Antonelli has also won the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix, securing his fourth consecutive victory and extending his lead at the top of the world championship standings to +43 points over his team-mate George Russell, who was forced to retire around the halfway point of the race due to a technical issue whilst leading. The Mercedes driver finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull. Just off the podium was Charles Leclerc’s other Ferrari. It was a race to forget for McLaren, who took a gamble by starting the race on intermediate tyres, but without success. Lando Norris retired, whilst Oscar Piastri finished outside the points. The next round of the F1 World Championship is scheduled for Monte Carlo on the weekend of 6–7 June.
