Milan, 28 May (LaPresse) – Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) has arrived at Mugello for the Brembo Italian Grand Prix to mark his return following injury, and has cleared the first hurdle: the reigning world champion has been given the green light to take part in the weekend’s first free practice session, FP1. Following this first session, number 93 will undergo a further medical examination to determine his fitness to take part in the entire race weekend. This was announced by MotoGP in a statement. Marquez crashed during the Tissot Sprint at Le Mans, sustaining a minor fracture to his foot that forced him to stop racing. Following this injury, the seven-time MotoGP world champion decided to bring forward a previously scheduled shoulder operation, required due to the injury he sustained in Indonesia last year. After a successful operation and a few days of recovery, he will return to the track for FP1 at Mugello, ahead of a final medical check on Friday morning to determine whether he can complete the entire weekend.
